If a pensioner dies, is the pensioner's spouse entitled to health insurance?

The widow or widower of a pensioner is entitled to health coverage, which is available to the spouse of a living pensioner but at his or her own expense. A spouse receiving a Survivorship Option will have premiums deducted from the monthly benefit. If there is no survivorship Option, the widow or widower can pay the premiums directly to the insurer.
